Description

The Chief Science Officer Program (CSO) aims to increase student voice and develop youth leaders in the STEM community by peer-electing students in grades 6-12. Once elected, CSOs serve as a STEM liaison for their school, peers, and community. The CSO program is leading a school cultural change that creates a focus on STEM - which is critical to our future economic vitality.

CSOs will attend a summer training Institute at Southern Oregon University in Mid-August 2017. Here, they will learn about their new position and participate in sessions related to STEM-skills and leadership development.

We need volunteers to lead these sessions and/or speak at the Institute! Each session will be approximately 1 hour. What is your specialty? Come teach what you are passionate about to students in middle and high school who are interested in a STEM-related career!

Institute sessions range from hands on learning activities to leading a session on professional communication.
